Truck accident at Tweed Heads South

Published: 5th June 2008

Firefighters from Tweed River and Tweed Heads responded to a truck accident on the Pacific Highway at Tweed Heads South this evening. Fire crews were on scene in six minutes to find a B double truck overturned, the driver safely out of the truck and diesel leaking from the fuel tank. The leaking fuel was contained preventing diesel from entering any water courses and a bobcat was used to empty the truck of its load of frozen chips. A heavy recovery vehicle was used to pull the truck upright and fire crews completed the clean up of the spilt fuel.
