Shop fire in Wagga Wagga

A fire in a shop in Fitzmaurice Street at Wagga Wagga broke out early this morning. Firefighters from Turvey Park and Wagga Wagga responded to the fire and when the first crews arrived eight minutes later they found the two level building ablaze. Fire crews using a hydraulic ladder fire engine and several fire hoses were able to contain the fire to the one shop. Several people were evacuated from nearby residences and two people needed to be treated for smoke inhalation. The building suffered extensive damage.
