House fire in Blacktown
Published: 22nd May 2008
This morning fire crews from Seven Hills, Blacktown and Huntingwood responded to a house on fire in Mort Street at Blacktown. Firefighters arrived within seven minutes to find flames erupting from the house and threatening the house next door. The occupants of the house, one adult and two children, needed urgent first aid for burns and smoke inhalation. Fire crews were able to render first aid, set up hose lines to protect the adjoining house and have crews wearing breathing apparatus enter the burning home to extinguish the fire and carry out a thorough search. The fire was contained to the one room and the next door house only suffered slight damage because of the quick actions of firefighters. The three occupants of the house were taken to hospital.
