House fire in Tweed Heeds

This evening numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received to a house on fire in Thompson Street at Tweed Heads. Firefighters from Tweed Heads and Tweed River were on scene within six minutes to find smoke pouring from the two level property. Fire crews carried out a search of the building while also using fire hoses to contain the fire. The search found no residents inside and all occupants were accounted for, with no injuries reported. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in 40 minutes and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
