Shopping centre evacuations at Pagewood

Just after noon firefighters from Matraville, Maroubra and Botany responded to an automatic fire alarm that had activated in a shopping centre in Bunnerong Road at Pagewood. Fire crews arrived within two minutes to find smoke throughout level three with evacuations in progress. The fire, which was in a level three plant room, was extinguished in just over half an hour. Firefighters used the building
