Truck leaking LPG at Beresfield
Published: 23rd March 2008
This evening firefighters from Tarro, Newcastle and East Maitland were called to a service station on John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield where a semi trailer was leaking LPG. Fire crews immediately set up fire hoses to disperse the gas and for fire protection and established an exclusion zone, which required several trucks to be moved. Gas detectors were used to monitor gas levels in the area while crews stopped the leak. Once the leak had been sealed and the gas detector readings showed the area clear of any gas build up firefighters declared the area safe.
