Terrace fire in Stanmore
Published: 13th March 2008
Quick actions by firefighters from Newtown, Leichhardt, Glebe, Marrickville and City of Sydney saved a row of terrace houses from further damage this evening. Fire crews were called to a fire in a building on Parramatta Road in Stanmore and arrived within five minutes to find a large volume of smoke coming from a row of nine terraces. Firefighters contained the fire to a single terrace and extinguished the blaze in just over half an hour, limiting the damage to the second level.
