Fire in a wrecking yard at Campbelltown
Published: 2nd March 2008
In the early hours of this morning numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received reporting a building fire in Blaxland Road at Campbelltown. Firefighters from Campbelltown, St Andrews, Rosemeadow, Narellan, Bonnyrigg Heights and Busby were responded to the fire. The first fire crews were on site within seven minutes to find a fire in a wrecking yard with numerous cars ablaze. Firefighters fought the blaze with several fire hoses and a hydraulic ladder fire engine was used to direct a water stream into the centre of the fire. A neighbouring property was also protected from fire during the height of the blaze. In just over one hour firefighters had contained and extinguished the fire. Thirty cars were destroyed.
