Car fire in Merrylands

Early this morning firefighters from Merrylands, Guildford, Silverwater, Chester Hill and Parramatta were called to a car on fire underneath a residential unit block in Merrylands Road, Merrylands. Smoke from the fire had entered the six level unit block requiring 40 residents to be evacuated while fire crews extinguished the blaze. A search of all levels was carried out and the premises ventilated to remove the smoke.
