NSW Fire Brigades' Employees Union (FBEU) calls strike

Published: 15th February 2008

At 5pm today, the NSW Fire Brigades' Employees Union (FBEU) called a one-hour strike which affected all full-time staffed fire stations.

This meant that 225 NSW Fire Brigades' (NSWFB) fire stations, as well as Rescue Units, high-rise ladder units and Communication Centres were not affected and skeleton crews were in place to respond to emergency calls.

The FBEU has indicated that there will be no further industrial action - aside from the relieving and paperwork bans currently in place - until the union and NSWFB appear before the Industrial Relations Commission on Monday morning.
