Fire in a temple in Glebe
Published: 31st January 2008
Fire crews from Glebe and Leichhardt were called to a fire in Victoria Road at Glebe in the early hours of this morning. Firefighters arrived within five minutes to find smoke coming from a temple and quickly entered wearing breathing apparatus and carrying fire hoses. The fire was in one room but had travelled up into the roof area. The fire was extinguished quickly but the contents of the room were destroyed with the roof suffering major damage. There were no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
