Rubbish fire under unit block in Blacktown

Firefighters from Blacktown and Seven Hills were called to a fire in Clifton Street Blacktown this afternoon. The first fire crews to arrive found a large amount of smoke pouring from the carpark under the four level apartment block. Sixty-eight residents were evacuated from the building while firefighters extinguished the rubbish fire. Damage was limited to a single car and pipework. Residents were allowed to return to their units when the smoke had been cleared.
