Boat sinking at Burraneer

Published: 26th January 2008

This evening firefighters from Cronulla and Hazmat specialists from Greenacre attended a boat that was sinking in Burraneer. The large cruiser was 40 metres off the shore and slowly submerging. Fire crews liaised with the salvage company at the scene and were informed that the vessel had a minimal amount of oil and fuel on board. Firefighters placed booms around the vessel to absorb any contaminates to prevent them entering the river.
