Building Fire, Bathurst

Firefighters from Bathurst, Kelso, Orange, Wallerawang and Lithgow extinguished a large building fire in Bathurst this evening. At 5.45 pm NSW Fire Brigades were called to a building on fire in Bathurst. The Bathurst firefighters were first on the scene and found a large building on fire with flames coming through the roof. The fire took 35 firefighters one and a half hours to bring under control and extinguish. Firefighters had to work in breathing apparatus and used many hose lines to achieve extinguishment. The building was extensively damaged and part will need to be demolished, however firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading and no other property was damaged.
