Gas detectors used in Gordon
Published: 26th October 2007
Three people were affected by carbon monoxide fumes when petrol powered equipment was used in an underground carpark in Moree Street at Gordon early this afternoon. Firefighters from Gordon and Willoughby were called to assist ambulance officers when the build up of fumes was discovered. Twenty people were evacuated from the building while fire crews used large fans to disperse the fumes. Gas detectors were used by firefighters in breathing apparatus to monitor the atmosphere and to ensure that the carpark was cleared of all fumes.
