Truck fire on the M7 at Rooty Hill
Published: 15th October 2007
This afternoon fire crews from Mount Druitt, St Marys, Seven Hills and Greenacre were called to a semi trailer on fire on the M7 at Rooty Hill. All southbound lanes and one northbound lane of the M7 needed to be closed for safety reasons while firefighters extinguished the blaze. Hazmat crews were located at a nearby creek to ensure that any water run off did not contain any diesel fuel from the semi trailer. After the fire was extinguished the fuel from the semi trailer had to be decanted before the severely damaged prime mover could be loaded onto a trailer and removed.
