Service station fire at Homebush

Published: 8th September 2007

Numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received to a fire in a service station on Parramatta Road at Homebush this afternoon. Firefighters from Concord, Burwood, Parramatta and Rhodes responded to the fire and on arrival found smoke coming from the two level workshop area. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used fire hoses to contain the fire and protected a nearby LPG bowser from the radiant heat. The fire was extinguished before it could spread and firefighters ventilated the service station and assisted with the clean up to prevent further damage.
