Multiple vehicle accident on the Sydney Newcastle Freeway

Firefighters from Berowra responded to a north bound multiple vehicle accident on the Sydney Newcastle Freeway about two kilometres from the Mooney Mooney Bridge. On arrival fire crews were confronted with an accident involving six cars and a truck with a one person, suffering serious injuries, trapped inside a vehicle. Firefighters quickly extricated the injured person from the vehicle with ambulance officers on hand to transport the person and four others to hospital. Fire crews cleaned up the accident scene so that the freeway could be reopened.
