House fire in Wamberal

A fire in a detached garage in Old Gosford Road at Wamberal was attended by fire crews from Terrigal, Gosford, Bateau Bay, Wyoming and Kariong this morning. On arrival firefighters found the garage, which was used as a residence, ablaze and one person badly burnt. First aid was given to the victim until an ambulance was on scene while other fire crews extinguished the fire. Tragically the person later died in hospital. The fire caused extensive damage to the building.
