Smoke alarm saves family at Blacktown

In the early hours of this morning firefighters from Blacktown, Seven Hills and Schofields responded to a house on fire in Eggleton Street at Blacktown. On arrival fire crews were informed that all the occupants had escaped and crews quickly contained and extinguished the blaze. After talking with the occupants, firefighters discovered that a smoke alarm had alerted one person to the fire enabling all the occupants to safely escape the house. The house suffered extensive damage with no reports of any injuries.
