Car accident at Strathfield

A two vehicle accident just before midnight resulted in three people needing to be rescued. Firefighters from Lidcombe set up a fire hose for protection of the occupants of the cars in case of a fire while fire crews from Burwood commenced work on extricating the trapped people. All three people who were rescued were taken to hospital by ambulance officers. Firefighters cleaned up a minor fuel leak and the area was clear in just over one hour.
