Gas leak at Campbelltown

Published: 15th May 2007

Just after midday Campbelltown firefighters were called to a gas leak at a school in Beverley Road at Campbelltown. A gas pipe had been cut and the leaking gas had affected several students. Firefighters evacuated 20 teachers and students away from the area and ensured the gas pipe was isolated to stop the leak. One student was taken to hospital. The area was ventilated and gas detectors were used by fire crews to ensure that there was no build up of gas in any areas. When it was safe, the students and teachers returned to class.
