NSW Fire Brigades sends 40 fire engines and crews to assist SES

Ten special Strike Teams with 160 firefighters have been deployed by the NSW Fire Brigades (NSWFB) today to assist the SES answer thousands of calls for flood-related assistance on the Central Coast, Newcastle, Terrey Hills and Toronto.
In addition to local NSWFB crews, a total of 40 fire engines, 160 firefighters and 20 senior officers have formed the Strike Teams and been sent to assist with flood recovery. This is the fourth day the NSWFB Strikes Teams have been in operation assisting local communities.
As well as the assistance provided by the Strike Teams in the worst affected areas, since midday on Friday 8 June, the NSWFB has been called to nearly 3,000 storm-related incidents over the last four days. Storm-related assistance has included helping to manage local flooding, fallen trees, damaged houses, motor vehicle accidents and fallen powerlines.
