Published: 6th November 2013
Fire & Rescue NSW Commissioner Greg Mullins today unveiled the new $529,000 Coolamon Fire Station.
The new, purpose-built fire station includes a new double engine bay, staff accommodation, storage, and new operational and training facilities.
"It was my great pleasure to be at Coolamon today to celebrate this major $529,000 investment in fire fighting resources," Commissioner Mullins said.
Commissioner Mullins said the new Coolamon Fire Station was more modern and better equipped.
"The new station will provide a bigger and better base for the 10 firefighters who protect Coolamon and surrounding communities from fires, accidents, chemical spills and other emergencies.
"Coolamon firefighters do a great job protecting the community and have done since 1927.
"This new station will boost their ability to continue their work in keeping our community safe and protected from fires and other emergencies."
