The Harvey Norman building fire at Jamistown is now contained. The quick thinking and actions by firefighters prevented the fire from causing more damage. The FRNSW Commissioner Greg Mullins confirms with media that the fire at Jamisontown was under control shortly after 6:30pmUpdated 6:23pm
FRNSW firefighters are gaining the upper hand at the Penrith Harvey Norman building fire. Firefighters will remain on scene at for several hours mopping up and monitoring the situation.

More than 120 firefighters are currently on scene and buildings around the site have been evacuated. Motorists are asked to avoid the area - and be aware of emergency vehicles responding to the incident.

Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is responding to a major fire at a furniture store on Wolseley Road, Jamistown.
The fire started at approximately 3.40pm this afternoon, with firefighters alerted by an automatic fire alarm. More than 100 firefighters are responding to the fire.
There are no reports of injuries at this time and FRNSW is working with store management to ensure that all staff are accounted for.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area - in particular Wolseley Road and Mulgoa Road.
