08/05/11 - House fire - Pennant Hills

A domestic garage fire at Pennant Hills spread into the upper level of an adjoining house and caused substantial damage to the building and the contents. Two cars were destroyed and a young child and two adults were overcome by smoke and were transported to hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters from six surrounding stations attended the incident which took about ninety minutes to contain and extinguish. Neighbours from surrounding houses were evacuated as a precaution due to the severity of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
Three other houses sustained substantial damage due to fires at Charlestown, Wingham and Shalvey.
