House Fire at St Marys

Firefighters from St Mary’s and Dunheved responded to a reported house fire at Glossop St, St Mary’s this evening. They arrived to find a house that was totally involved in fire and an adult and child outside the house. The firefighters quickly started attacking the fire with hoses to prevent it spreading to the surrounding houses. They also called for the ambulance as the adult had hurt himself as he jumped out of the window with the child. He was treated for a suspected broken leg by ambulance personnel and the child was treated for smoke inhalation. Both were then taken to hospital. The quick actions of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the surrounding houses.
