Published: 9th July 2009
This morning firefighters from Toronto responded to a male worker suffering injuries in an underground pit. Crews arrived to find the worker had fallen twenty metres down a pit and was suffering head and spinal injuries. Ambulance paramedics stabilised the person and firefighters and ambulance officers used a mobile crane to winched the victim to the surface on a stokes litter. He was then transported to hospital for further treatment.
