Strathfield car fire

Published: 2nd May 2009

Sixty five residents were evacuated from an apartment building in Mosely Street, Strathfield, because of a fire early this morning. Firefighters from Burwood, Concord, Rhodes and the Duty Commander responded to the fire, with the first crews on scene in nine minutes. Two cars were on fire in a car park underneath the residential unit block causing smoke to fill three levels of the building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and the building was ventilated before residents were allowed to return to their units. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
