This morning an off-duty firefighter and an off-duty paramedic rescued a man from a burning home in Cleveland Street, Chippendale. The firefighter was on his way to work and noticed smoke pouring from the upper storey of the two level house. Firefighters from Redfern, Glebe, Alexandria, Newtown, City of Sydney and the Duty Commander arrived soon after to rescue another three people from the house and contain and extinguish the fire.
