House fire in Cranebrook

In the early hours of this morning firefighters from Cranebrook, Penrith and the Duty Commander responded to a house on fire in Terrace Drive, Cranebrook. Crews were on scene in eight minutes to find the house engulfed in flames and reports of an occupant still inside. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly located a person inside the building, carried them out and commenced first aid. Other fire crews contained and extinguished the fire. The occupant was taken to hospital but tragically did not survive. Investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire.
