Office fire in Bankstown

Firefighters from Bankstown, Revesby, Riverwood, Lakemba, Chester Hill, Campsie and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a three level building in Old Town Plaza, Bankstown early this morning. The first fire crews were on scene in six minutes to find a fire on the ground floor office of the three level building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were able to contain and extinguish the fire in the office in an hour. The office suffered extensive damage and several shops that were above the fire suffered heat and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
