Building fire in Werrington

Firefighters from Dunheved, St Marys, Regentville, Mount Druitt, Huntingwood, Cranebrook, Hazmat specialist from St Marys and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a building in Rance Road, Werrington. Numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received and fire crews were on scene in seven minutes to find the building engulfed in flames. A hydraulic ladder fire engine and several fire hoses were used to extinguish the fire in one and a half hours. Fire crews carried out clean up (salvage) work to minimise further damage but the building was extensively damaged. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
