Fire in panel beaters factory in Toongabbie

Fire crews from Seven Hills, Northmead, Wentworthville, Parramatta and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a smash repair business this afternoon in Oakes Road, Old Toongabbie. The first firefighters were on scene in nine minutes to find a fire in a spray booth and heard a large explosion from inside the building. While crews wearing breathing apparatus worked to contain the fire other fire crews carried out a search of the upper level and accounted for all occupants. The fire was extinguished quickly with the spray booth severely damaged and the rest of the building heat and smoke damaged. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
