Car accident in Liverpool

Rescue firefighters from Liverpool, Hazmat specialists from Greenacre and firefighters from Busby responded to a two vehicle accident in Pirie Street, Liverpool this afternoon. Two people were injured and were taken to hospital. One of the vehicles involved in the accident was carrying gas cylinders. Approximately 50 people were moved from the immediate area as Hazmat firefighters used detectors to check if the cylinders were leaking. In consultation with a gas company representative the cylinders were inspected to ensure that they had not been damaged in the crash. Once the all clear was given the cylinders were removed and the area cleaned up.
