2006 Firefighter Championships: Day 1 results

Day one of the Firefighter Championships saw three events hotly contested.
Results are as follows:
Event 1 – Discipline
The Discipline Event demonstrates the ability of a team of firefighters to carry out precision marching and correct presentation of uniforms and medals

Event 2 – Ladder Practice
Individual competitors run 22 metres to a ladder, which is just over 6 metres high, ascend the ladder to strike a target, the fastest competitor being declared the winner.

Event 3 – Urban Pump Collector and Ladder
The objective of this exercise is to extinguish a fire in a second storey building. A crew of four firefighters work as a team to use hydrant water relayed through a pump and into two lines of hose which are fixed to the side of a ladder. Each team's time is recorded when the second stream of water hits a target.
