House fire in Broken Hill

Firefighters from Broken Hill and Broken Hill South responded to a house on fire this morning in Beryl Street, Broken Hill. Fire crews were on scene in five minutes to find a single level house engulfed in flames. All occupants of the house were accounted for; they had been alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm and had evacuated. Fire crews extinguished the fire and used a thermal imaging camera, which detects heat sources, to check for fire spread. The home suffered extensive damage.
