Building fire in Kiama

Firefighters from Kiama, Shellharbour and Hazmat specialists from Shellharbour responded to a building fire in Manning Street, Kiama in the early hours of this morning. Fire crews arrived to find smoke pouring from the window of a second story office. Crews wearing breathing apparatus contained the fire to the office area minimising damage to the rest of the building. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters assisted with the clean up (salvage) and ventilated the building using positive pressure fans. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
