Factory fire in Alexandria

A thermal imaging camera was used by fire crews to locate a fire inside a factory unit this morning in Bourke Road, Alexandria. Firefighters from Alexandria, Mascot, Newtown and the Duty Commander responded to the fire with the first crews, who were on scene in four minutes, finding smoke coming from the industrial unit. A thermal imaging camera, which locates heat sources, was used to find the fire which was burning in an enclosed space in the office area. During the incident 50 people were evacuated. The fire was extinguished quickly and after the factory was ventilated the people were allowed to return.
