Motor vehicle accidents

Firefighters and rescue firefighters attended to separate car accidents today where people were trapped in their vehicles. The first accident occurred on Wardell Road, Marrickville this morning and fire crews from Marrickville, Burwood and rescue firefighters from Burwood were on scene in nine minutes to find a single vehicle accident. Two people were extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital. The second accident on the Great Western Highway, Arndell Park involved three vehicles and fire crews from Huntingwood, Blacktown and rescue firefighters from Blacktown were on scene in five minutes. Two occupants needed to be extricated and three people were taken to hospital.
