Car accident in Sydney CBD

Published: 7th March 2009

Early this morning firefighters from City of Sydney responded to the corner of Park and Elizabeth Streets where a two car motor vehicle accident had resulted in one car crashing into a coffee shop. The crash resulted in a large oil spill and a damaged fire hose reel causing water to flood the premises. One occupant of the car was extricated by police and ambulance personnel transported five people to hospital. Once the cars were removed the roads were reopened, fire crews dealt with the flooding and were assisted by council workers to clean up the oil spill.
