Factory fire in Fairfield

In the early hours of this morning, in response to an automatic fire alarm, firefighters from Fairfield, Guildford, Cabramatta, Merrylands, Smithfield, Liverpool, Bankstown, Parramatta, Wentworthville, Hazmat specialists from Greenacre and two Duty Commanders responded to a fire in Seville Street, Fairfield. The first fire crews were on scene in nine minutes to find a fire in a factory and a car on fire at the rear of the premises. The car fire was quickly extinguished and crews contained and extinguished the fire inside the two level factory, preventing further damage. The factory was ventilated to remove heavy smoke logging. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
