Shop fire in Concord

Firefighters from Concord, Burwood, Rhodes, Ashfield, Lidcombe and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a shop in Majors Bay Road, Concord early this morning. Fire crews were on scene in six minutes to discover one shop in a row of shops ablaze. Crews were able to quickly contain the fire and carry out a search of the premises which confirmed there were no occupants. The fire was extinguished and adjoining shops checked for any fire spread. Further investigations showed that there had been an explosion in the shop. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
