House fire in Narara

Firefighters from Wyoming, Gosford, Hazmat specialists from Berkley Vale and the Duty Commander responded to a house on fire in strand Avenue, Narara this evening. Numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received and on arrival fire crews were confronted with a two level house engulfed in flames with live power lines on the ground. Firefighters were able to quickly search the home to confirm that no people were inside while other crews protected and evacuated adjoining houses and began bringing the fire under control. Once the power was isolated fire crews were able to safely access parts of the house to extinguish the fire. The fire caused structural damage to several areas of the house. There were no injuries reported but the house suffered severe damage. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
