Shop fire in Rockdale

This evening fire crews were called to a fire in a shop on the Princes Highway, Rockdale. Firefighters from Kogarah, Arncliffe, Hurstville and the Duty Commander responded to the emergency with crews on scene in six minutes to find smoke billowing from the shop. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly contained the fire to the rear of the shop minimising further damage. The shop was ventilated and crews carried out clean up (salvage) work. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
