Unit fire in Arncliffe

Numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received this evening to a fire in a unit on the Princess Highway, Arncliffe. Firefighters from Arncliffe, Kogarah, Marrickville, Botany, Mascot and the Duty Commander rushed to the scene arriving within a couple of minutes. The fire was in a unit on the top level of a three storey apartment building and approximately 30 people had evacuated from the building. Fire crews quickly contained and extinguished the fire while carrying out a search of the unit. The unit suffered extensive damage and two people were treated by ambulance officers.
