Taree shop fire

In the early hours of this morning firefighters from Taree, Wingham and Hazmat specialists from Taree responded to a fire in a shop in Victoria Street, Taree. Crews were on scene in nine minutes to find a fire in a hair salon with smoke logging in adjoining premises. Fire crews in breathing apparatus quickly contained and extinguished the blaze and after investigating the adjacent shops and offices ventilated the smoke from all premises. The contents of the hair salon sustained fire and heat damage. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
