Shop fire in Campbelltown

In the early hours of this morning fire crews from Campbelltown, Rosemeadow, St Andrews, Ingleburn, Narellan, Busby, Fairfield and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a shop in Queen Street, Campbelltown. Numerous Triple Zero calls were received and the first crews arrived within five minutes to find the shop engulfed in flames with the fire spreading through the roof space. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus battled for over an hour to contain the fire, forcing entry into adjoining shops to check for fire spread. Once power was isolated to the building crews were able to completely extinguish the blaze. The fire destroyed one shop with an adjoining premises also suffering substantial damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
