Bush fire at Waratah West

This afternoon firefighters from Mayfield West, Lambton, Cardiff, Charlestown, New Lambton and the Duty Commander responded to a bush fire near Allowah Street, Waratah West. Numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received and fire crews were on scene in nine minutes to find approximately three hectares of bush on fire. The fire was contained and extinguished in one and a half hours with no property under threat.
