Residential villa fire in Peakhurst

Firefighters from Riverwood, Mortdale, Revesby, Hazmat specialists from Greenacre and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a residential villa in Park Street, Peakhurst this afternoon. The first fire crews were on scene in four minutes to find a fire in a garage of a single level villa. Ten people were evacuated from the surrounding area as firefighters contained and extinguished the fire. Hazmat crews dealt with several drums that had been affected by the fire. A car and the garage suffered extensive damage in the fire and fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
